Say some words about yourself: handle, groups

Hi. My handle is dino of 5711. My interest in the demoscene began 2001, when someone showed me fr-08: .the .product by farbrausch. It got my full attention and I got fascinated by the “art form” called demo. It took me a few years until I discovered the community behind it and physically joined. Until today I still dream of doing a demo, but I’m too lazy to finish something. Therefore I adore the scene for their pure love and creativity. I would describe myself best as “Demoscene Fanboy”.

When and where was the first Evoke you visited?

2006! It was my first demoparty and I can say that going to evoke was the best decision I ever made.

When did you join the organizing team?

I joined the organizing team in 2008, after I asked poti on the DkeV bustrip to tUM 2007 if they need help.

What made you join the organizing team?

I’m not good in producing content. Organizing evoke is the love I can give back to the people making great productions all the time.

What is your job inside the organizing team?

I started doing infodesk shifts and evolved from that position, picking up more and more responsibilities on my way. Today infodesk shifts is one thing I don’t do anymore. I still write the shift-plan and see if we can get enough people to fill all spots. On party I coordinate the build-up and tear-down, motivate people to get everything running and try to keep a good overview on our time management. Thankfully years of experience from the crew help a lot. Since 2015 I’m also the host of evoke, announcing compos or slight delays. Besides that I try to open the event with a handpicked list of demos.

Which compo do you enjoy watching the most?

I’m a newschool fucker. I go for PC Intro and Demo.

Is there a demo/intro/... released at Evoke you love the most?

Not particular released at evoke, but the invitation “party heart” by 5711. It more or less set a perfect mood to one of my favourite evoke so far. With releases like “overdrive” and “calcifer” 2013 became the party with a heart!

What would be the photo to describe Evoke for you? 

Standing on stage with the whole organizing crew. Getting cheered on by all the visitors. That’s the moment I feel in peace and know that all the stress and lack of sleep was worth it.

Do you have a favourite shirt from Evoke?

Hard to say. The train of 2006 is special for me, because it was my first. But I would go for the “planet” of 2012, it’s the most timeless shirt.

What would be your most memorable moment at Evoke?

I had the luck sitting next to moqui at my first evoke. From that point onwards it became a special friendship <3

Besides Evoke, what is your next favorite demoparty?

For me it’s TRSAC in Denmark. I like to describe it in 2 words: “controlled escalation”! Having the beer and schnapps break right before the main compo starts.

Is there anything else that you always wanted to say about Evoke?

I’m glad and proud to be part of this team. Evoke is something special to me and I would like to show it to everyone who hasn’t visited evoke so far.
