Airport Köln Bonn
The Aiport Köln Bonn is the base airport for two cheap inner european airlines:

Germanwings
Germanwings offers flights to Cologne from many Eastern-European capitals and even from Istambul. It is unclear though if it is possible to book these flights from outside of Germany.

Hapag Lloyd Express
HLX offers flight directly to Cologne/Bonn as well. Check them out expecially if you're planning to come from Italy and Spain, as they fly from many of these coutries' cities.
If you arrive at Aiport Köln Bonn you should take the bus line 170 heading for Cologne main station. It takes about 20 minutes and costs 5 €. At the main station you trip would continue as outlined here.
Airport Frankfurt / Hahn
The Frankfurt Hahn Airport is the german base of Ryanair. They offer flights from most European capitals.
From Hahn you should take the bus to Cologne. The bus takes little more than 2 hours and costs 15 €. The bus stops behind Cologne main station. Continue your trip to the evoke location as outlined here.
other airports
