Location


Evoke is going to cologne this year. the location is going to be the main entrance hall of the fh (university of applied sciences) in cologne-deutz, only 10 minutes away from the heart of the city.

One major advantage of the cologne location is that we will have enough space for everybody -- unlike in the theatersaal in aachen.

CAR

TRAIN

  • Arrival Cologne Main Station: Take underground line 12, 14, 16 or 18 direction Neumarkt. At Neumarkt change into line 1 or 9 direction "Deutz/Kalk" or "Refrath". Leave "Deutz-Kalker Bad/Köln-Arena". From there on follow the signs leading to the "Fachhochschule"
  • Arrival "Köln-Deutz": Take underground line 1 or 9 direction "Refrath". Next station is your destination "Deutz-Kalker Bad/Köln-Arena". Follow the signs saying "Fachhochschule".
  • Thalys: coming from France or Belgium you should consider taking the fast train "thalys" (4 hours from paris, 2.5 hours from brussels at 30 €). more information on the thalys website.

PLANE

  • Arrival Köln-Bonn: there are busses and trains from the airport to cologne city (line 170). the trip is about half an hour.
  • Arrival Düsseldorf: there are several connections to cologne every hour, each of them taking about one hour.
  • Arrival Frankfurt-Hahn (Ryanair): take the bus to Koblenz. In Koblenz take the train to cologne (and refer to the train section, then). the trip is about 2 hours and costs about 25 €. thanks to scamp for the information.

HOTELS

please note: cologne is major city with a big fair center just around the corner from our location. during the weekend of evoke there is going to be the spoga (International Trade Fair for Sports Goods, Camping Equipment and Garden Furniture). all of these points will result in higher prices for hotel rooms.
